Doctor Sheik Umar Khan on the 6 March 1975. He was the chief Sierra Leonean doctor attempting to curb the country's Ebola outbreak in 2014. The virologist is credited with treating over a hundred patients before succumbing to the virus himself. He was recognized as a "national hero" by Sierra Leone's Health Ministry.Khan had long worked with Lassa fever, a disease that kills over 5,000 a year in Africa. He had expanded his clinic to accept Ebola patients. Sierra Leone's president, Ernest Bai Koroma, celebrated Khan as a "national hero". He had a habit of hugging the cured Ebola patients that were leaving his ward, to lift their spirits. Khan made contact with the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in 2010 when he came to Ghana to do his Residency. He was offered admission into the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons to undertake a 3-year residency training programme in internal medicine. As part of the training, he was posted to the Department of Medicine of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. DEATH Khan was very meticulous in donning personal protective equipment as he treated patients. Believing the virus unable to be transmitted in an airborne fashion, he worked fearlessly with Ebola virus patients. Despite observing recommended protocols, Khan was infected by the virus and died on 29 July 2014 in a facility run by Medecins Sans Frontieres. He was not offered a dose of the experimental drug ZMapp though one was available.Sierra Leonean president Ernest Bai Koroma had been due to visit his treatment center the following week ethnicities, and political beliefs. Dr. Martin Salia,was a native born of Sierra Leone. He was also a legal resident in the U.S, he was married to an American Citizen and both of them has two children. Dr. Salia a surgeon who ddict=ated hs life wokirng at the United Methodist Church (UMC) hospital in Kissay, Fretown. He could have flown to the U.S and lived wth his famly while he deadly Ebola Virus was ramparting Sieera Leone; however, he did not because he know that his country needed him that time most. Dr. Salia who was diagnosed with Ebola in Sierra Leone and flown to Nebraska for treament with the hope of saving his life; however, he died less than 36 hours (Nov 17 2014) after he arrived in Nebraska, despite receiving two experimental treatments-the drug ZMapp and a blood transfusion from an Ebola survivor. Dr. Salia dedicated his life to saving others. He viewed this vocation as his calling, telling his fellow United Methodist Church members that he pursued medicine not because he wanted to, but because he firmly believed it was God’s will for him. He was 44 years old at the time of his death.

Dr. Olivette was a doctor at the Lumley Hospital. She was a mother of two children and a she was also a dedicaed christian. She contacted the deadly Ebola virus while working at the Lumley hospital, she was the fourth professsional Sierra Leonean doctors to died in the fight aginst the deadly virus. Due to the government inability to evacuted her, an appealed was made to the World Health Organisation (WHO), the Bill Gates Foundation and other charitable organisation; however, she was unable to be evacuted, so she later died. She was 59 years old and one year for her to retirement, but she lost her life in the fight aginst Ebola.
