Emmerson Amidu Bockarie, known by his first name Emmerson, is a Sierra Leonean afropop musician. He sings mostly in Krio and English. Emerson was born in Kenema into a low class family; however, Emerson was determined to break the cycle of poverty. He is great of Fourah Bay College (FBC), but his passion for music led him follow his muscial career. He became popular after releasing his first hit song, "bobor beleh" in which he talked about the corrupt practices of Sierra Leonean goverment officials (Late President Tejan Kabba's regime). He is one of the few artist who continues to sing against corruption and bad government practices despite the intimidation from government.Emerson is the CEO of Sugar Entertainment and he is base in the U.S, but often goes to Sierra Leone.
